Doughnut Delight

Updated: Feb 28, 2018

If you have a sweet tooth in west Duluth, I have just the place for you. Drive to 3rd and 23rd St and look for the big red letters which say "Johnson's bakery". Step inside and be overwhelmed by the aroma of bread and baked goods. The inside is tastefully decorated to make you feel cozy, which makes it easy to decide on "for here or to-go". The staff is more than happy to chat and answer any of your questions. Good luck picking just one when they are less than a buck. I suggest one for here and a couple for the road (but who are we kidding, they won't make it home). The banana bread was the best I have ever had *if grandma is reading, I meant second best*. It didn't last for more than an hour on our kitchen table between my two roommates and me. This bakery and coffee shop has been a classic in Duluth for over 70 years. Come find out why! (And if you need a donut date, I'd be happy to go back for seconds.)
